Minor league report: Kasper Bjorkqvist leads Penguins to overtime win

An overtime goal by forward Kasper Bjorkqvist gave the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins a 2-1 road win against the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms at the PPL Center in Allentown on Saturday.

Goaltender Alex D’Orio made 23 saves on 24 shots in the victory for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (13-12-4-2) while forward Jonathan Gruden also scored a goal.

Highlights:

The Penguins will conclude their season with a road contest against the Hershey Bears on Sunday, 3 p.m.

Goaltender Louis-Philip Guindon made 44 saves on 46 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 2-1 home loss to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Forward Joshua Winquist scored the lone goal for Wheeling (19-32-5-1).

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a home game against the Swamp Rabbits on Sunday, 4:10 p.m..
