To open up a fourth consecutive week of game preparation since suffering a hamstring injury, Minkah Fitzpatrick once again was unable to take part in a Pittsburgh Steelers practice.

The All Pro safety sat out Wednesday’s session, according to the league-mandated injury report. Fitzpatrick has not played since an Oct. 29 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, when he pulled up lame away from the play on a first-half snap.

Fitzpatrick has not been put on injured reserve, but if he misses this coming Sunday’s game at the Cincinnati Bengals will have reached the minimum requirement for an IR stint.

Also sitting out Wednesday’s practice because of injury was receiver George Pickens (shin).

Four veterans had the day off for non-injury reasons: cornerbacks Patrick Peterson and Levi Wallace, defensive lineman Cam Heyward and guard Isaac Seumalo.

Notably, defensive lineman Montravius Adams took part in practice – albeit in a limited capacity – for the first time since suffering an ankle injury early during a Nov. 2 win against the Tennessee Titans.

Reserve defenders James Pierre (shoulder) and Nick Herbig (hamstring) were listed as limited participants Wednesday.
