Latrobe grad Trent Holler transfers from Marshall to Memphis
He may hike the ball backward, but Trent Holler keeps pushing his football career forward.
A grad transfer center and Latrobe graduate, Holler announced Tuesday he will be playing on the offensive line at Memphis.
The 6-foot-2, 306-pound Holler tossed his name into the NCAA transfer portal earlier this month. His commitment to a third college program comes after he spent two productive seasons at Marshall.
He also considered offers from Boston College and Iowa State.
“I loved the opportunity that they had given me to come play center and to be on a great team,” Holler said of Memphis. “To win the American Conference and to maybe get a chance at the college football playoffs (is a goal). I am trying to prove to be one of the best centers in the country and to show my name enough to get to the league (NFL).”
Holler played in 11 games this season and played a key role in Marshall (6-6) averaging 357.8 yards per game.

Memphis plays in the American Athletic Conference and has been in the conversation to join a Power 5 conference.
The Tigers (9-3) are now primed for bowl season. They play Iowa State in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Dec. 29 in Memphis.
