Like many coaches, Pat Narduzzi makes a habit of regularly checking the NCAA transfer portal.
When Pitt’s coach saw graduate transfer Keldrick Wilson’s name appear, he acted promptly.
Pitt immediately began recruiting Wilson, an offensive tackle from Hampton (Va.) University, and he signed a letter of intent Tuesday. He’ll compete for a starting job this season, most likely on the right side.
Wilson will be the fourth graduate transfer offensive lineman Pitt has signed in four years.
“Keldrick was a prospect we focused on from the moment he entered the portal,” Narduzzi said in a statement. “He is a big and athletic lineman who we expect to immediately compete at offensive tackle. Keldrick has a great personality and is so likable. He will fit in with our team right away, and that’s so important for transfers. Our staff can’t wait to coach him.”
Wilson, 6-foot-5, 300 pounds, has one season of eligibility remaining. He started 11 games at offensive tackle for Hampton last season after missing all of 2018 with an injury.
Pitt has four starters returning on the offensive line, but is looking to replace right tackle Nolan Ulizio, who exhausted his eligibility.
