Greensburg’s Rocco Mediate credits his lucky hat — the one decorated by his 4-year-old daughter — for having at least something to do with his latest victory on the PGA Tour Champions.

Mediate this weekend won the Sanford International, his first win on the 50-and-older circuit in three years.

His hat was decked out in flowers and designs — an art project he took with him to the tournament.

“My hat … people have been going, ‘What the heck’s on your hat?’” Mediate said in a video posted by the PGA Tour Champions. “Francesca Rose, my 4-year-old, did all this. We wrote ‘love’ on the side. We did a little design on the back. I have a white one and a black one. I have worn them the last rounds the last four weeks and I’ve shot under par. I’m always going to wear these. This week, we happened to win. I can’t wait to bring her a trophy home.”

Mediate birdied the final two holes on the way to a 6-under-par 64 Sunday at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, Minn.
