FR’s Palmer Jackson 2 shots back in AJGA tournament

Franklin Regional senior Palmer Jackson is spending his final week of school doing what he likes the most: golfing.

The Notre Dame commit is playing in the AJGA Memorial Junior tournament hosted by Sung Hyun Park at the Ohio State University Golf Club Scarlet Course in Columbus.

Jackson is two strokes behind Cade Breitenstine of Akron, Ohio. Breitenstine is at 1-over-par 143, and Jackson is at 3-over 145. Jackson had three birdies in the first round, finishing with a 1-over 72. He had two more birdies during the second round, a 2-over 73.

Other WPIAL golfers competing were Central Catholic’s Neal Shipley (tied for 20th at 12-over 154), South Fayette’s Luke Lestini (35th at 17-over 159) and Central Catholic’s Jimmy Meyers (tied for 38th at 19-over 161).

The final round is Thursday.
