Guard Khameron Davis, who started 23 games as a freshman at Pitt before accepting a lesser role under coach Jeff Capel last season, will transfer to Weber State, the Standard-Examiner of Ogden, Utah, reported.
Davis, a 6-foot-4 sophomore, will sit one season and have two years of eligibility remaining.
“The program itself is amazing,” Davis told the Standard-Examiner. “I’m huge on family and growth as an individual. I feel like the coaching staff and the players there embody that, personal growth and staying together as a family. That was something that was really compelling.”
At Pitt, Davis averaged four points and 2.8 rebounds per game as a freshman. Those numbers fell to 2.5 and 2.2 last season.
Weber coach Randy Rahe previously recruited Davis from Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colo.
“Pitt was good for a season,” Davis said. “It was necessary for me to grow. But for me, I felt like I needed to go somewhere where I could develop more as a player.”
