Appearing in 33 games with the Penguins last season, forward Radim Zohorna scored seven points (four goals, three assists).

Former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Radim Zohorna signed a one-year contract with HC Lugano of Switzerland’s National League.

That team announced the transaction via a release Thursday.

Zohorna, 28, just completed a one-year, two-way contract with the Penguins that carried a salary cap hit of $775,000. He became an unrestricted free agent with regard to his NHL status July 1.

Undrafted, the left-handed Zohorna initially joined the Penguins as an unrestricted free-agent signing in April of 2020. A native of Czechia, Zohorna spent three of the past four seasons with the Penguins organization.

In 2023-24, Zohorna (6-foot-6, 220 pounds) appeared in 33 games with the Penguins and scored seven points (four goals, three assists) while averaging 9:45 of ice time per contest.

He also played in 30 American Hockey League contests with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season and posted 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists).

After this transaction, three active players who finished the 2023-24 season under contract with the Penguins remain unsigned for the 2024-25 campaign.
