• While walleye season kicks off Saturday, anglers who are still in search of trout should visit Harbar Acres Lake, the recipient of a recent trout stocking. Anglers are reporting a large population of hungry trout in the lake, as they appear to chomp at most baits cast in their direction. Reportedly, minnows and maggots are the leading to the best results.
• Trout fishing at Glade Run Lake is also productive, with fishermen utilizing minnows and night crawlers to hook brown trout and rainbow trout.
• At Cranberry Lake, anglers are picking up crappies in bunches. Minnows or spinnerbaits work as solid options for bait.
• Quemahoning Reservoir is a good spot to visit for anglers looking to pick up a few northern pike.
• Lake Wilma is maintaining a steady trout bite, according to local anglers. For those that prefer the live bait approach, night crawlers and minnows tend to be good choices.
• Upper Deer Lake is yielding plenty of panfish and the occasional rainbow trout to fishermen trolling its waters.
• At Yellow Creek Lake, anglers are reeling in a number of northern pike catches. Spinnerbaits and spoons almost always make for a good start to any setup when fishing for pike. Though, it may take a little experimenting to find the right bait-spoon-sinker combination to catch a big one. Most of the pike catches are occurring around the North Shore area of the lake.
• Blue Spruce Lake is offering up a variety of trout, with anglers reporting catches of both brown trout and rainbow trout of late. Fishermen are doing well with the trout on minnows and wax worms.
• Anglers casting their lines into the Upper Clarion River are reeling them back in with yellow perch and smallmouth bass attached.
• Lower Clarion River is also teeming with fish, with muskie, northern pike and walleye being spotted near the confluence with the Allegheny River.
• Fishermen at Kahle Lake are seeing a steady bite from bluegill, crappie and yellow perch. While it hasn’t been a common occurrence, a couple of anglers are reporting largemouth bass catches.
• Pymatuning Reservoir still hosts a few yellow perch for anglers using jigs tipped with minnows. The walleye bite is also expected to kick up once walleye season commences.
• Anglers fishing Tionesta Lake are still catching some crappie and yellow perch, in addition to a few bluegill.
