• Anglers are enjoying plenty of action at Conemaugh River Lake, bringing in an assortment of catches, including smallmouth bass, yellow perch, walleye and a handful of freshwater drum. Bass are the most popular catch, with fishermen reeling in solid numbers from the higher concrete walls bordering the lake. Some large walleye catches were also reported. Anglers who are casting out from the shorelines are reeling in yellow perch and freshwater drum.
• Keystone Lake is another spot harboring a diverse range of fish. Anglers trolling the lake are getting bites from bluegill, crappie and largemouth bass in the past few days.
• Youghiogheny River Lake has seen a good deal of fishing pressure lately, but there are still smallmouth bass and walleye catches being reported at solid rates.
• Fishermen at Quemahoning Reservoir are doing well with a number of different fish, mostly northern pike and walleye, as well as a few smallmouth bass.
• High Point Lake is yielding some hefty bluegill catches to anglers fishing its waters. Pickerel and bass are also popular catches in the last week or so.
• Laurel Hill Lake is still a go-to spot for trout fishing. According to reports, the catches are infrequent but plenty of golden rainbow trout are being spotted from the shore.
• The walleye are biting at Lake Wilhelm, mostly at live bait such as nightcrawlers and minnows. Anglers are also reeling in crappie at an increasing rate in recent days.
• In Allegheny County, the Allegheny River is offering up plenty of catfish, with anglers relying on chicken liver to bait the fish.
• Deer Creek is still hosting a nice population of trout. Nightcrawlers are a worthwhile bait for the trout.
• The fishing is most productive during the nighttime hours at Tionesta Lake, particularly around the dam. Fishermen are doing well with muskie and bluegill, and are seeing some perch and bass catches, too.
• Tionesta Outflow is a promising spot for those who are looking to reel in a few walleye and perhaps the occasional muskie.
• Anglers fishing the Allegheny River in Forest County are snagging smallmouth bass using tube jigs tipped with minnows. Pike are also being caught, albeit at a lesser rate than the bass. Spoons and live bait appear to be a good approach for the pike.
