First Call: Steelers show interest in high-speed WR; goalie goal, goalie fight; Marc-Andre Fleury bet
A few Steelers post on social media about free agency. The franchise appears to have an interest in a blazer at wide receiver in the upcoming draft. A goalie fight, a goalie goal and a Golden Knights goalie bet.
All that in Monday’s “First Call.”
Banner’s self-ban
Steelers free agent offensive tackle Zach Banner sent a tweet saying that he is going on social media lockdown until after his new contract is done.
Whenever — and wherever — that may be.
Locking it down on social and media until my new contract is signed. ?
Stay tuned... #HulkSmash

Most seem to think that he’ll re-sign with the Steelers. And if that is the case, wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster seems a bit jealous.

Interesting quote given that Smith-Schuster spent part of last week telling all of us that he wants to end his “legacy” as a player in Pittsburgh.
Was he told something we should know about? Have the Steelers already informed Smith-Schuster that he won’t be getting a deal?
Or had it just been 10 minutes since JuJu was on social media and he needed to chime in on something?
I’ll take “Obvious Answers” for $600, Alex.
Au-BURN Anthony
If the Steelers lose Smith-Schuster, they may be eyeing up another prospect.
They are on the virtual draft meeting list for Auburn wide receiver Anthony Schwartz. That’s according to Justin Melo of “The Draft Network.”
#Auburn WR Anthony Schwartz has the deep speed (former track star) to take the top off the defense. A versatile WR that can play both inside/outside.
He has met/will meet virtually with the #Patriots, #Seahawks, #Steelers, #Jets, #Chargers, #Colts, #Saints and #Titans.

As you can see, the Steelers weren’t alone in their interest. And there is an obvious reason why. Schwartz is an absolute burner.
Schwartz was an Auburn track star, too, running a 10.07 100-meter dash. He is also reported to have run a 4.27 40-yard dash going into his senior year of high school.
That said, he’s raw. CBS Sports had him rated as the 138th overall pick.
McAfee’s money
Our friend Mark Madden of TribLive and “105.9 The X” once bet Mario Lemieux $6,600 that Le Magnifique couldn’t score a goal directly off a faceoff.
That didn’t turn out so well for Mark.
Well, former WPIAL and West Virginia kicker Pat McAfee is diving in even deeper. Last week, he told former Penguins goalie and current Vegas Golden Knights net minder Marc-Andre Fleury that he would donate $100,000 to a charity of Fleury’s choice if he scored a goal.
Flower has been trying to score a goal for YEARS
If he gets one this year I will donate $100,000 to the charity/foundation of his choice @GoldenKnights

As every Penguins fan knows, Fleury has been trying to do that for years with no luck. But there is a recent precedent.
#GoalieGoal Alert! Check out the big flip over everyone's heads by @FloridaEels goalie Alexandre Caron just moments ago in the Eels' 6-4 win over the Florida Jr. Blades!
Fittingly great call by @NickRoeschPXP, of course. @The_DanKShow @Buccigross @espn #SCTop10 pic.twitter.com/MNy9oLSB2i

That was Florida Eels goalie Alexandre Caron Saturday night in USPHL (United States Premier Hockey League) action against the Florida Jr. Blades.
The ball is in your court, Flower.
More goalie highlights
We aren’t done with the goalie action. Forget about goalie goals.
How about a goalie fight? And this one has to do with the Penguins’ ECHL affiliate in Wheeling.
Watch Wheeling Nailers goaltender Francois Brassard go toe-to-toe with Utah’s Kevin Carr.
Well that just happened! pic.twitter.com/31wRmPlfkR

Well, at least in that part of the clip, it looks like Wheeling’s Brassard got the better of the fight. And Wheeling got the better of the game, too, winning 6-1. Brassard stopped 23 of 24 pucks en route to victory.
