8 golfers advance out of Drive, Chip and Putt regional at Oakmont

Eight regional finalists moved on to the big show in the seventh annual Drive, Chip and Putt competition.

Four boys and four girls advanced out of a regional competition held Saturday at storied Oakmont Country Club.

The eight players will join 72 others competing in the national finals on April 5 at Augusta National Golf Club, prior to the start of the The Masters.

The annual competition is for players in four age divisions, from 7 to 15.

Oakmont was one of 10 regional qualifying sites across the country.

Players to qualify out of Oakmont are:

-Alexis Card, Cambridge, Ontario (ages 7-9)

-Jillian Burks, Paoli (10-11)

-Amelia Cho, Ashburn, Va. (12-13)

-Helen Yeung, Beltsville, Md. (14-15)

-Ryan Hooker, Oakton, Va. (7-9)

-Gavin Baker, Greencastle (10-11)

-Nicholas Werner, Wilkes-Barre (12-13)

-Alexander Leskovansky, Houtzdale (14-15)
