Molayo Irefin returned the opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown – the longest play in school history – to lead Saint Vincent to a 53-16 victory over Waynesburg (4-5, 3-4) in PAC football Saturday afternoon.
Irefin caught seven passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns from Brady Walker, who threw for 204 yards and four TDs. D.J. Gray added 105 rushing yards and a touchdown for Saint Vincent (4-5, 4-3).
Allegheny 20, Bethany 17 – Garrett Paxton kicked a 19-yard field goal in overtime to give Allegheny (3-7, 2-6) the PAC win at Bethany (1-8, 0-8). John Ian Duron ran for 107 yards and a touchdown for Allegheny while teammate Tre Worship rushed for 101 yards. Tre’Jour Owens ran for 149 yards and a touchdown for Bethany.
Geneva 57, Thiel 20 – Brutus Ogilvie threw for 202 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 57 yards and two more scores to lead Geneva (3-6, 3-4) over Thiel (1-8, 1-6) in PAC play. Kazier Brandt caught three passes for 117 yards and Gino Mavero added 60 rushing yards and two touchdowns for Geneva, which scored 34 points in the second quarter. Zech Sanderson tossed for 273 yards and three touchdowns for Thiel.
Westminster 14, Case Western 13 – Despite gaining only 121 yards of offense and four first downs, Westminster (6-3, 6-2) defeated Case Western (6-3, 5-2) in PAC play. Brayden Thimons had 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble and Corte Williams scored on a 33-yard interception return for Westminster.
Washington & Jefferson 31, Grove City 14 – In PAC play, Jacob Pugh threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns to lead Washington & Jefferson (7-2, 5-2) to victory over Grove City (6-3, 4-3). The Presidents’ John Peduzzi caught eight passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns while Ian Hansen added five receptions for 108 yards and a TD. Joey Guida rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown to pace Grove City’s offense.
Division II
Gannon 25, Cal (Pa.) 13 – Kory Kurtis threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns to lead Gannon (8-2, 6-1) to a PSAC win at Cal (Pa.) (5-5, 4-3). Keith Thompson recorded 11 tackles and 1.5 sacks for Gannon, which had six sacks overall. Chris Farnsworth added 10 solo tackles and an interception for the Golden Knights. Noah Mitchell threw for 215 yards for the Vulcans.
Slippery Rock 28, Edinboro 21 – Chris D’Or ran for 103 yards and two touchdowns as No. 10 Slippery Rock (9-1, 6-1) beat Edinboro (4-6, 2-5) in PSAC play. Brandon Bischof had two interceptions for Slippery Rock, which forced five Edinboro turnovers. Toby Cline had one of two Edinboro interceptions, returning his 45 yards for a touchdown.
Seton Hill 7, Mercyhurst 0 – Jaylen McDuffie had 4.5 sacks and Seton Hill (2-8, 1-6) won its second consecutive game with a PSAC shutout of Mercyhurst (2-8, 0-7). The Griffins held the Lakers to 114 yards of offense. Ky’Ron Craggette ran for 90 yards and scored the game’s only touchdown in the second quarter. JaiQuawn McGriff had seven catches for 71 yards.
IUP 45, Clarion 0 – Mak Sexton was 16 for 27 for 178 yards and three touchdowns, all to Duane Brown, as No. 16 IUP (8-1, 6-1) rolled past Clarion (3-7, 2-5) in the PSAC. Brown had six catches for 57 yards. Dayjure Stewart ran 12 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns. IUP held Clarion to 139 yards of offense.
Division I FCS
St. Francis (Pa.) 38, Georgetown 24 – Justin Sliwoski threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns, Makai Jackson had nine catches for 116 yards and St. Francis (Pa.) used a 24-point third quarter to beat Georgetown 2-7). St. Francis (7-2) had already clinched the Northeast Conference’s automatic spot in the FCS playoffs last week.
