Pitt is in the early stages of building its 2024 recruiting class, but so far three of the four verbal commitments, including Central Catholic junior defensive end Ty Yuhas, reside in Pennsylvania. Yuhas confirmed his verbal commitment Thursday through his Twitter account.

Yuhas (6-foot-3, 260 pounds) joins York running back Juelz Goff, Philadelphia defensive tackle Jahsear Whittington and wide receiver Ric’Darious Farmer of Cocoa, Fla. Whittington and Farmer are rated four-star prospects by Rivals.com.

Yuhas also has a scholarship offer from Kent State, but he said he was eager to commit to Pitt. Coach Pat Narduzzi extended an offer last week. Yuhas will play defensive end at Pitt, but he also plays tight end at Central Catholic.

“Pitt always has been my top interest for schools,” he said, “and when they offered me, I didn’t think I should wait.”
