Playoff losses can be hard to swallow. Just ask Carolina Hurricanes captain Justin Williams.

After his team suffered a 6-2 loss to the Boston Bruins on Sunday, Williams summed up the experience with an unappetizing analogy.

“Sometimes you gotta eat a poop sandwich,” Williams said. “It doesn’t taste good. You have to chew on it for a little bit, and we’ll have to do it for a couple of days and get the taste out of our mouth next game.”

The Hurricanes trail 2-0 in the Eastern Conference finals. They’ll host the Bruins in Game 3 on Tuesday night.
