Beaver Stadium renovation plan set for vote by Penn State trustees this month
Penn State’s Board of Trustees will hold a meeting on May 21 to vote on approving the Beaver Stadium renovation plan. The Board of Trustees will meet via conference call at 10 a.m. in an executive session.
The board’s committee on Finance, Business and Capital Planning will then hold a meeting at 10:30 a.m. on a conference call. That meeting is open to the public.
Penn State announced its architect and construction manager for the multiphase Beaver Stadium renovation project last fall. The estimated cost for the stadium renovation is $700 million.
Penn State will reconstruct the west side of the stadium, which will maintain traditional bowl-style seating while adding anticipated club and loge seats and executive and founder’s suites.
Additional anticipated renovations throughout the facility include code upgrades, accessibility improvements and upgraded fan amenities. These involve improved circulation to ease spectator congestion throughout the stadium, improved restrooms, upgraded concessions, Wi-Fi and cellular upgrades, and additional seating options.
Construction is expected to begin in January 2025 and wrap up ahead of the 2027 football season.
