A four-team league will play games at Wild Things Park this summer.

Baseball will be played at Wild Things Park this summer, after all.

Late last week, the Washington Wild Things, along with three other teams, announced a four-team league that will play Thursday through Sunday, starting July 9.

Tickets for the first week of games went on sale Monday morning. The Baseball Brilliance Sox and the Road Warriors will play the first game of the season at 3 p.m. Thursday. The Wild Things and Steel City Slammin’ Sammies will play the nightcap at 7 p.m.

There will be two games played each day, with games Thursday through Saturday at 3 and 7 p.m. and games on Sundays at 1 and 5 p.m.

The Wild Things announced the league’s first week of games Friday.

On June 24, the Frontier League, in which the Wild Things compete, canceled its 2020 season because of concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. But the league said teams could pursue other baseball-related activities.

Wild Things Park is putting safety precautions into place. Masks are required, and everyone entering the park will be subject to temperature checks. Anyone with a temperature over 100.4 will be denied entry, along with members of their party.

All fans will enter through the right-field gate and exit at a separate gate on the right field concourse. Other procedures include touchless point-of-sale equipment, no draft beer or fountain soft drinks and required social distancing.

Wild Things Park will also have a special seating area for fans 55 and older.
