Pitt’s 20-game ACC men’s basketball schedule – two more conference games than in previous seasons – will stretch from early November to early March and feature a game at the Petersen Events Center against defending national champion Virginia.
The ACC announced its schedule Thursday night on the ACC Network.
Pitt’s previously announced conference opener will be Nov. 6 against Florida State at the reconfigured Pete. The teams’ benches will be located directly in front of the Oakland Zoo for the first time to maximize the student cheering section’s efforts for the benefit of television.
All 20 games will be televised, including nine on the ACC Network, six on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU and five on AT&T SportsNet.
After the opener, Pitt will play seven non-conference games before resuming its ACC schedule Dec. 6 at Louisville. Three more non-conference games precede the second resumption of ACC play when Pitt plays Wake Forest on Jan. 4 at the Pete.
The remainder of the season will consist only of conference games:
