Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., smiles during a campaign event Juy 1 in Scranton.

Every day I’ve had the honor of representing our commonwealth, I’ve fought for the people of Pennsylvania — our workers, children, seniors and people with disabilities. I’ve worked with both parties to protect American workers, to make our border more secure and to lower costs. I have fought corporate greed and supported working families. And I have always put Pennsylvania first, no matter what.

In Southwestern Pennsylvania alone, I’ve been proud to work across the aisle and deliver — from protecting 1,200 good-paying jobs at Butler Works to cleaning up our water supply by investing in lead service replacement for homes and businesses in Pittsburgh. I secured funding to repair the Fort Duquesne Bridge, open new bus lines to reduce commute times and make the busy I-376 corridor safer. I also won major investments to modernize the Montgomery Lock and Dam to create and sustain jobs in Southwestern Pennsylvania and to ensure that shippers can reliably deliver and take cargo from Pittsburgh to the rest of the world.

I know there’s more work to be done for the people of Pennsylvania, and it’s because of fights like these that I’m running for reelection. Our most sacred rights — women’s rights, workers rights and voting rights — are on the line on Nov. 5. As your senator, I promise to continue fighting back against corporate greed to lower costs for working families. I will always stand with our workers when their jobs are on the line. I will continue to work to lower prescription drug costs for families like I did for seniors.

I’ve spent my whole career fighting for Pennsylvania — it’s the stories, struggles and aspirations of the Pennsylvanians I meet every day that inspire me to keep fighting. I respectfully ask for your vote on Nov. 5.
