Letter to the editor: Words matter in today’s political atmosphere

Ever since President Trump was elected by a majority of votes cast and a majority of Electoral College votes, I have seen letters to the editor about him grow more hateful. Words such as Nazi and dictator are constantly used. These writers should educate themselves about Nazis and dictators before using them to describe any person.

I think they have contributed to the political atmosphere in this country where we now have a political assassination. I see many comments online that are celebrating this. Hate spreads! Some people on the other side of the political spectrum will retaliate. Is that what we want for this country? Words matter!
