Letter to the editor: Why we voted for Trump

Now that the Trump administration has begun to dismantle the left-wing ruling class that has permeated our federal government, academia, media and our judicial and health systems, I feel TribLive editorial content has become extremely anti-Trump, critizing every action the president takes.

Also, the barrage of letters to the editor that insult Trump voters (who were the majority of voters in the 2020 presidential election) is becoming tiresome. Among other insults, I have been referred to as a “sheep” and an “uninformed voter.” I think any future calls for national unity and civility will ring hollow.

My opinion is that people voted for Trump did so because they opposed a left-wing establishment that Trump could straighten out, a left wing that is antisemetic, anti-Christian, supports open borders and expected American taxpayers to pay for the welfare of millions of unvetted illegal immigrants, and dictated that everyone should submit to an unproven covid vaccine or face punishment. A left wing that supports boys entering girls’ locker rooms and wished the nation a “Happy Transgender Day” on Easter Sunday is just too weird for us. We will stick with Trump.
