Regarding the article “Greensburg woos developers for downtown hotel project” (Feb. 1, TribLIVE): As a resident of Greensburg who frequents the library and post office, the idea of a hotel so near both places on Pennsylvania Avenue is a strange choice of site.

Did anyone do a study on the impact on businesses, the post office and the library that construction would entail? As to valet parking, this is a joke. The lot adjacent to the post office has two small rows of public parking and the rest is private.

Why not put the hotel in the soon-to-be-vacated Sears store in the mall? A casino is planned for the mall; what better place than near a hotel? Plus, a new restaurant is being built nearby.

There has to be a better, more creative use for the buildings on Pennsylvania Avenue than trying to squeeze a hotel in the area.
