Regarding the letter “Allegheny County tax hike outrageous” (Dec. 23, TribLive): I agree with the writer that no one likes their taxes raised. I would also like him to know that there was a recent Westmoreland County property tax hike voted in by Republican county Commissioners Sean Kertes and Doug Chew. The commissioners raised the millage rate from 21.9 to 25 mills, which is comparable to the Allegheny County tax hike. As he wrote, “Speak up taxpayers, and vote these scoundrels out ASAP and vote in representatives who will actually work responsibly for us all.”
