If you think President Trump and Elon Musk will be riding off into the sunset in four years, I think you are sadly mistaken. The chaos that has begun and which will surely continue may last until Trump dies in office. He may live to be 102. That’s five more terms in office.

Trump has already hinted that he’d like to serve indefinitely, and it may be possible. He can cite as a precedent FDR’s four terms in office. Furthermore, the 22nd Amendment of 1951 that limits a president to two terms in office has never been tested in the courts. To me, it is unconstitutional because it arbitrarily limits an individual’s freedom and right to run for office.

Trump’s lawyers could argue that no rule, even an amendment to the Constitution, should override any individual’s rights and freedoms to run for office. They could argue that individual rights and freedoms shall take precedence over an archaic rule that is extremely discriminatory. Trump would probably win the case because the Supreme Court is composed of six conservatives and three liberals.

So if you’re anti-Trump, don’t be counting the days until the next presidential election. I just worry that over time the suicide rate in the U.S. will go up drastically. Ha!
