I suggest now is the time to stop the irresponsible, vindictive and basically cruel behaviors of this current administration. In my opinion, they are not working for seniors, women, legal immigrants, working poor, people of color, government workers, veterans or middle-class citizens. You know, just us regular old taxpaying citizens.
But I believe they are working to get major tax cuts for the billionaires and oligarchs and consequently gaining power and wealth for themselves.
They say they are working to investigate fraud and abuse. This could be a worthy effort, if done using a strategic, respectful, thoughtful and transparent process, conducted by bipartisan professionals. But this administration is using invasive, reckless chainsaw tactics that are harming many of us citizens. So again, this administration is not working for most of us.
I say it is time to continue to, or begin to do, everything we can to stop this “kingdom” of the rich from trying to run over us, our democracy, our Constitution and our three-branch system of government. Indiscriminate destruction of entire governmental departments and regulatory and oversight agencies can only result in further kingdom-ism, aka oligarchy.
So, if we have not already, I suggest we all read, listen and learn from independent , non-biased news outlets and world history books. Then, as taxpaying citizens, we stand up for ourselves and our democracy using the legal means we have to make our government work for us before it’s too late.
