Whether I agree or not, I appreciate anyone’s right to submit a letter or a rebuttal to a letter in this forum. But the rebuttal from Robert Anderson, “Real reason for hating Trump” (Nov. 1, TribLIVE) to my letter “Past time to dump Trump” (Oct. 4, TribLIVE) missed the mark.
Anderson claims my real reason for hating Donald Trump is because he is not a Democrat. He is wrong in his assessment. I stated in that letter, as well as many previous letters, that I would never have voted for Trump, even if he was a Democrat.
It’s not about Democrat or Republican, or any political party, to me. I will never vote for anyone who supports or believes in Trump, period.
It seems to me that Anderson obviously loves and supports the king of hatred. Publicly calling people SOBs and scum, accelerating racism and hatred, refusing to accept an honest election defeat and trying to steal an election (“I just want to find 11,780 votes”), and instigating an attack on the Capitol which nearly resulted in the hanging of his own vice president — that’s about as hateful as you can get.
If Anderson thinks $2 a gallon gas justifies all of Trump’s atrocities, then that speaks volumes for his mindset.
There is a saying that you have to crawl before you can walk. The same applies here. You have to read before you can write.
