Letter to the editor: Our democratic process is broken
The definition of democracy is “a rule by the people by which the people vote for their elected representatives.” Where was democracy in choosing the next Democratic candidate for president ? No one had a choice; Vice President Kamala Harris was thrust onto us like a bad cold. So much for democracy. I mean, even Sen. Bob Casey is heard from once every six years; Punxsutawny Phil is more reliable, appearing every year.
Now voters are stuck with no choices, which means more disastrous Bidenomics and illegal immigrants flooding over the border, bringing crime, drugs, a drain on our health care and social programs and disease. The problems are still here, and Washington wants us to vote for the status quo!
What is equally disturbing is that both parties distort the truth. The Independent Party has failed to produce a credible candidate in years. And the media is extremely biased — it is clear the weatherman is more accurate at telling the truth.
Before you vote, I strongly suggest that you remember when you were better off financially. Ignore the speeches, the ads and the claims of who did what. Fact-check everything. You have to be prepared for reality because the democratic process is broken, and Washington swears by it. Vote with an educated mind instead of the manure that is being thrust upon you.
Finally, watch what you wish for , because you just might get it.
