Many Democrats call President Trump a liar, a fascist, a dictator, while many Republicans say President Biden’s policies at the border, promoting woke culture, overspending and weaponizing the Department of Justice against Trump were ruining our country.

Extreme wings of both parties are accused of accelerating political partisanship between them. We all are exposed 24/7 to misinformation and outright lies on social media, biased cable networks, letter-writers, talking heads and biased columnists, who consistently echo one side or the other, of news and opinions, and misinterpret polls and statistics and fact-checking.

So what are concerned citizens and voters to do to get the true facts and news? I try to watch news reports on CNN, Fox, MSNBC or Newsmax and compare the believability among them. But I find C-SPAN, with its “Democracy Unfiltered” news, interviews with experts and phone callers from both parties, to be better balanced and informative.

In newsprint, local publications like this one, and The Wall Street Journal, with its economics and business perspective, seem most factual, and separate opinion from facts.

Gone are the days when you could trust the media to be reporting the same “facts.”

Our country’s future depends on getting the whole truth.
