Republicans are dumping millions of dollars in fear and smear ads on the issue of crime. So let’s talk about crime.

We just had the four-year anniversary of the shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, where a deranged right-wing zealot took up a weapon of war after posting his intentions on Gab, and massacred elderly congregants based on poisonous, hateful conspiracy theories.

The Parkland, Fla., shooter, who was recently sentenced, posted a picture of himself on social media in a MAGA Donald Trump hat before the massacre.

The terrorist murderer who unleashed carnage from above on a Fourth of July parade this year in Illinois attended Trump events and posted himself on social media wearing a Trump flag as a cape. He also wrote and performed a song based on Qanon, the cult that worships Trump.

This list could go on. Just google “QAnon murder.”

And Jan. 6, anyone?

On the international stage, Trump, Republicans and right-wing media have repeatedly expressed support for Putin and his criminal mass murder in Ukraine. Trump: “So Putin is now saying it’s independent, a large section of Ukraine. I said, ‘How smart is that?’ And he’s gonna go in and be a peacekeeper. That’s the strongest peace force.”

Just last week, an assailant broke into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s house and attacked her 82-year-old husband with a hammer.

The GOP has become the party of political violence and lethal nihilism.
