Science tells us human life begins at conception, so that makes abortion the beginning of many evils. It is the beginning of child abuse and the beginning of attacks on our environment (nature) as far as human beings are concerned.
In addition, Judeo-Christian teaching states that God has a relationship with us in the womb and even before that (Isaiah 49:15 and Jeremiah 1:15). In this light, abortion is in many ways the beginning of evil, not the lesser of evils.
