CNN and “Sesame Street” are joining forces to present a family-oriented town hall program that aims to address racism in America.

According to CNN, the 60-minute special “Coming Together: Standing Up to Racism. A CNN/Sesame Street Town Hall for Kids and Families” will air Saturday at 10 a.m..

Big Bird is slated to join CNN personalities Van Jones and Erica Hill to moderate the event. They will be joined by a host of Sesame Street characters, including: Elmo, Abby Cadabby and Rosita, along with experts answering questions submitted by viewers.

The show comes on the heels of the Memorial Day death of George Floyd, a black man who was killed by a Minneapolis police officer who knelt on the handcuffed Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes. The killing has drawn nationwide protests and riots for the past 10 days.

CNN says it is producing the special “as anger and heartbreak have swept across America over the killing of yet another black man at the hands of police.”

According to a tweet from “Sesame Street,” the protests will be part of the discussion along with racism, exercising empathy, and embracing diversity.

This isn’t the first time CNN and “Sesame Street” have co-hosted a town hall special. In April, the duo addressed the coronavirus pandemic in attempt to assist families explain the dangers of covid-19 to their children.

How to watch: The town hall will air on CNN, CNN International and CNN en Español. It will stream live on CNN.com’s homepage and across mobile devices via CNN’s apps, without requiring a cable log-in.

You can also watch on CNNgo, and subscribers to cable/satellite systems can watch it on-demand.
