Buy a house in Italy for less than a cappuccino

Two bucks will buy you a house in the Italian countryside.
Many of Italy’s ancient towns are losing residents so community leaders are taking action.
The city of Mussomeli, in Sicily, is an example of a place desperate to rebuild its population. In fact, they will give you a house for about $2 if you promise to live there. And fix it up. And pay a few fees.
The program requires that you renovate the home within three years of purchase. You can do the renovation work yourself.
The fees are estimated to run up to $4,500 and you can expect annual taxes of $400.
This just might be a great way to make that life change you’ve been dreaming about.
