There aren’t many professions of more serious consequence than policework.
Officers put their lives on the line for the communities they serve, and the way they do their jobs can make all the difference in the world for the quality of life of residents.
That seriousness is usually reflected in the way departments communicate with the public. Even if departments utilize modern tools such as social media, the messages are almost always predictably sterile — accident reports, calls for help finding robbery suspects and the like.
The West Seneca Police Department, a 66-officer outfit covering a community of more than 45,000 in the Buffalo, N.Y., suburbs, does those things, too. Only the WSPD does its duty with a certain… flair.
