April Fools' Day: Tom Brady, Funko, Peeps get in on the ha-ha holiday
Pranks and jokes, welcome back. April 1 is here and it’s time again.
April Fools’ Day.
Let’s see who got in on the action, from a GOAT to Peeps.
Brady brings back Expos
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is bringing back an old MLB franchise. He’s going to be the first player, coach and owner in league history. Welcome back your Montreal Expos.
“With opening day today, excited to announce we’re bringing the Expos back to the MLB in 2022. Excited to be the first player/coach/owner in MLB history,” Brady tweeted Thursday morning.

It seems like there’s going to be some overlap in 2022 with the Bucs and Expos schedule, but he’s the GOAT, he’ll figure it out I’m sure. The Expos have been gone since 2004 (and then became the Washington Nationals), so let’s just enjoy it. Throw on your Vlad Guerrero Sr. jersey and celebrate.
Suez it ain’t so
To commemorate the legacy of the boat that got stuck in Egypt’s Suez Canal, Funko is giving you something to remember it.
A Pop! figure.

What better way to remember an incident that affected global trade for about a week than to own a trinket of a little guy in a captain’s hat on a container ship.
Never forget the Ever Given’s stuckcation: March 23-29, 2021.
Rolling out a new way to learn
Pittsburgh-based Duolingo got in on the action with an innovation in the restroom.
The language learning technology company rolled out the Duolingo Roll on Thursday.
“Language learning is hard … so we made it soft. It’s time to turn your bathroom into a classroom with our latest innovation: Duolingo Roll – toilet paper (yes, toilet paper) that teaches you phrases in new languages!” Duolingo said in a tweet.

Duolingo really committed to the bit, setting up a fake page on their website where you could “buy” the language-teaching toilet paper, with varieties like Spanish for English speakers, English for Japanese speakers, and others.
But with a tag line like this, how could you not want one: “Never forget a lesson again, because nature is the best push notification.”
Peeps go Green
If there is one thing that divides this country, it’s Peeps. You love them or hate them. A brave few might reside in between.
But on this ha-ha holiday, Peeps and vegetable brand Green Giant collaborated on something never seen or done before, and hopefully never again.
Cauliflower-flavored marshmallow bunnies.
Happy #AprilFoolsDay from us and our friends at @peepsbrand. ? Who still would’ve tried it out? #CauliflowerPEEPS #AprilFools pic.twitter.com/os3Nd6S8V5

There’s really nothing else to say about that one. Let’s just hope that someone at Peep/Green Giant HQ didn’t make them because they didn’t get the memo.
Until next year, happy April Fools’ Day.
