President Trump on Friday tweeted that he, after conversing with Kanye West, will work toward bringing rapper A$AP Rocky back to the U.S. after he was jailed in Sweden.

A$AP has reportedly been jailed without charges following a street fight in June.

“Just spoke to @KanyeWest about his friend A$AP Rocky’s incarceration. I will be calling the very talented Prime Minister of Sweden to see what we can do about helping A$AP Rocky. So many people would like to see this quickly resolved,” Trump wrote.

According to The Hill, the president credited Melania Trump with bringing the rapper’s case to his attention.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was working to have A$AP Rocky, whose given name is Rakim Mayers, released from incarceration following discussions with Kim Kardashian West and White House adviser Jared Kushner, The Hill reported.

CNN’s fact-checking correspondent Daniel Dale reported that Trump said he has been getting “tremendous support” from the African American community and beyond for his efforts to retrieve the rapper, “because we’re all one.”
