Fox News Channel has hired Lahren, who has hosted shows on The Blaze and One America News Network along with working for a political action committee supporting President Donald Trump. The network said on Wednesday, Aug. 30, that Lahren will have a “signature role” on a digital product under development and be a commentator on the network’s opinion programming. Conservative commentator Tomi Lahren backed away from mainstream Republican views Thursday.

One day after Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) signed the nation’s most-restrictive abortion bill into law, Lahren spoke out.

In an afternoon tweet, Lahren asserted that banning abortion in nearly every case is “too restrictive.”

“It doesn’t save life, it simply forces women into more dangerous methods, other states or countries. You don’t encourage life via blanket government mandate!”

Lahren acknowledged that her stance would be “attacked by fellow conservatives.”

But she wasn’t shy about defending her position against those who disagreed.

Some tweeters were surprised with Lahren’s post.

This isn’t the first time Lahren has voiced her opinion about abortion. According to the GOP pundit, she was fired from “The Blaze” for her views on the topic.
