Tomi Lahren shunts conservative views, attacks Alabama abortion law
Conservative commentator Tomi Lahren backed away from mainstream Republican views Thursday.
One day after Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) signed the nation’s most-restrictive abortion bill into law, Lahren spoke out.
In an afternoon tweet, Lahren asserted that banning abortion in nearly every case is “too restrictive.”
“It doesn’t save life, it simply forces women into more dangerous methods, other states or countries. You don’t encourage life via blanket government mandate!”
I will be attacked by fellow conservatives for saying this but so be it, this Alabama abortion ban is too restrictive. It doesn’t save life, it simply forces women into more dangerous methods, other states or countries. You don’t encourage life via blanket government mandate!

Lahren acknowledged that her stance would be “attacked by fellow conservatives.”
But she wasn’t shy about defending her position against those who disagreed.
If you think banning abortion with no exception for rape or incest will stop women from terminating pregnancy, you’re not being honest with yourself.
P.S. you’re not God so don’t you dare evaluate my Christian faith based on your moral superiority complex. https://t.co/TUbRPqudkm

Some tweeters were surprised with Lahren’s post.
I liked a Tomi tweet. Insane.

In all seriousness, this took courage and I admire anyone who is willling to disagree with their party (on either side) and stand up for the greater good of this country.

I agree! Most don’t see the hypocrisy in being against government intervention while being totally okay with politicians imposing on women’s reproductive choices.

Don't always agree with tomi, but I always respect how she stands by her principles. Multiple times stated she doesn't believe government should be involved too much in citizens' lives and multiple times I've seen her stand by that even if it doesn't correlate with her party

This isn’t the first time Lahren has voiced her opinion about abortion. According to the GOP pundit, she was fired from “The Blaze” for her views on the topic.
