Vice President Kamala Harris has recruited two rock stars to her campaign, and they will hold a free concert in Pittsburgh on Friday.

Michael Stipe, the front man of alt-rock legends R.E.M., and country-rock star Jason Isbell will host a Get Out the Vote concert on Friday night in Pittsburgh.

The concert is open to the public, but those interested must sign up online ahead of time.

The event time and location will be announced to confirmed guests only.

Second gentleman Doug Emhoff, Harris’ husband, is scheduled to travel to Pittsburgh for the concert and will deliver remarks.

Stipe was the lead singer of R.E.M. through the band’s heyday in the 1980s and ‘90s. As a member of R.E.M., he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.

Isbell has been critically acclaimed for his Southern-tinged Americana, which has garnered him six Grammy Awards and a passionate fan base.

He has been involved politically in liberal circles for some time. The Alabama native was a fervent supporter of former Sen. Doug Jones, D-Ala., and he performed at this year’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

The Harris campaign has focused on the Pittsburgh region over the last couple of months. Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, have visited the region eight times. The vice president spent several days in Downtown Pittsburgh last month while preparing for her Sept. 10 debate with Republican rival Donald Trump.

The race for Pennsylvania’s crucial 19 Electoral College votes is tight. Polls have shown a close race between Harris and Trump, with the vice president up marginally.

Trump will rally in Butler on Saturday, his first return to the site where a gunman tried to assassinate him in July.
