Pennsylvania has 770 new coronavirus cases reported Tuesday.

The state Department of Health announced the new case increase, as well as 18 new covid-19 deaths in the state.

New cases had decreased for two days after Saturday’s new case count of 843, before going up again Tuesday. There were only two new deaths reported Sunday and none reported Monday, before 18 new deaths were announced Tuesday.

Total cases in the state are 134,795. The death total is now 7,691.

To date, 1,539,969 patients have tested negative for covid-19 in Pennsylvania.

Ages of those with covid-19 are generally 25 or older in the state. The largest age range is 25-49, which makes up about 38% of cases, followed by ages 65 or older with about 23% and ages 50-64 at about 22%. People age 24 or younger make up 17% of cases.

There are 528 covid-19 patients currently hospitalized in Pennsylvania, with 73 of them on ventilators. Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 25-49, according to the health department.

“Our percent positivity decreased again this week, representing the fifth straight week that the percent positivity has decreased,” Gov. Tom Wolf said in a release Monday. “This is a testament that our actions are working, but we still have more work to do. The virus is still circulating, and we must continue to wear masks, practice social distancing and avoid large gatherings to keep our numbers low, stop the spread and allow more freedom.”

The statewide percent-positivity went down to 3.2% from 3.4% last week, according to the state.
