Pennsylvania reported 1,557 new covid-19 cases Tuesday, according to the state Department of Health.
In addition, 33 new coronavirus-related deaths were reported, the second-most reported in October. All of the reported new deaths are from October.
Total cases and total deaths in the state now stand at 184,872 and 8,533, respectively.
In Pennsylvania, there are 918 covid-19 patients currently hospitalized, with 94 on ventilators. The Department of Health estimates 79% of cases have recovered.
Tuesday marked the 15th consecutive day the state has had 1,000 or more new covid-19 cases. The highest daily positivity rate of that span also came Tuesday, with an 11.77% rate.

“We all knew there was … going to be an upsurge in coronavirus in the fall, and we’re starting to see that,” Gov. Tom Wolf said. “The fall resurgence is here.”
