The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 1,027 new coronavirus cases and 20 new deaths Tuesday.

Tuesday’s reported cases represent the second time in the last six days that cases surpassed 1,000 cases, as 1,032 cases were reported Friday. However, cases in the 700 range were reported four times in that span.

Philadelphia County accounted for 168 new cases and Allegheny County added 139 cases to state’s case total of 102,765. The largest demographic for state covid-19 cases are those ages 25 to 49, which make up 37% of cases, according to state figures.

Pennsylvania’s death total is now 7,038 after the largest increase in reported deaths in nearly a week. Of the total deaths, 4,809 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

This month, reported cases eclipsed the 1,000 mark three times. Prior to July 10, the last time cases reported were more than 1,000 was May 10. In April, 1,000 or more cases were reported all but three times that month.

Between July 14 and July 20, the number of tests administered was 155,796.

To date, 952,998 patients have tested negative for covid-19.
