Pennsylvania breaks record again for most new covid-19 cases

Pennsylvania broke a record again for most new reported covid-19 cases Tuesday with 4,361 cases.

The new case record was previously 4,035 cases set by Saturday’s figures.

Prior to November, daily case numbers in the state had never reached 3,000 new cases. So far this month, there have been two times cases have been in the 3,000-range and two times cases have been in the 4,000-range.

In the state, there are currently 1,938 covid-19 patients hospitalized, with 189 on ventilators.

There were 62 new coronavirus-related deaths reported Tuesday, as well. Those new numbers bring the state’s total covid-19 cases to 238,657 and total deaths to 9,086.

Of the new deaths reported Tuesday, 49 are from November, 12 are from October and one is from August. Deaths have continued to climb through the beginning of the month, totaling 137 death so far in November.

For perspective, here are actual deaths reported through the first 10 days of recent months:

Nov. 1-Nov. 10: 137 deaths

Oct. 1-Oct. 10: 85 deaths

Sept. 1-Sept. 10: 37 deaths

Aug.1-Aug. 10: 42 deaths
