Pennsylvania reported 6,669 new covid-19 cases Tuesday, according to the state’s Department of Health.

There were also 81 new deaths reported, all of which were from November.

Tuesday’s figures bring total cases and total deaths to 321,070 and 9,951, respectively.

In the state, there are 3,897 covid-19 patients hospitalized, with 826 in the ICU and 405 on ventilators.

In the past seven days, there have been 45,557 covid-19 cases reported and an average of 6,508 cases reported daily, both of which are records. In that same span, Pennsylvania saw its first daily case count in the 6,000 and 7,000 range. There were four days in that span with new cases in the 6,000s and two days in the 7,000s.

State officials Monday issued a one-night ban on alcohol sales from 5 p.m. Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, to 8 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, as part of a new covid-19 mitigation effort. Maximum capacity for indoor and outdoor gatherings were also scaled back.

State officials laid out new covid-19 mitigation efforts but stopped short of issuing a statewide stay-at-home order, instead advising Pennsylvanians to stay home and putting a one-night ban on alcohol sales Wednesday.

New orders also scale back the maximum capacity for indoor and outdoor gatherings, capping outdoor limits for the largest venues at 10% capacity up to 2,500.
