Pa. reports nearly 1.5 million at least partially vaccinated for covid
Pennsylvania reported 2,830 additional covid cases and 97 deaths Tuesday, according to the state Department of Health.
Total cases in the state are now 917,848, with 74,624 cases reported in February. Total deaths in the state are now 23,711, with 2,050 deaths reported this month.
As of Tuesday, the state reported that 1,474,479 people had received at least one dose of a covid vaccine and 559,644 had been fully vaccinated (received both doses). Pennsylvania began receiving covid vaccines in mid-December.
The state’s vaccination numbers do not include Philadelphia, which is which is its own jurisdiction. According to the Philadelphia covid-19 vaccine dashboard, 174,092 had received at least one covid vaccine dose, with 88,881 fully vaccinated.
Covid hospitalizations in the state were 1,985 on Tuesday, marking a second consecutive day of increase since 1,959 were hospitalized on Sunday. It’s the first time in about a month and a half that hospitalizations increased over two or more days.
In Western Pennsylvania, Allegheny County reported the most additional cases Tuesday with 274. Westmoreland (78) and Beaver (70) were among other counties in the region with most additional cases reported.
