Pa. reports 4,088 additional covid cases, 149 deaths

Pennsylvania on Tuesday continued its current trend of reporting less than 5,000 additional covid-19 cases, per the state Department of Health.

There were 4,088 covid cases added, bringing total cases to 876,913 in the state. There have been 33,689 cases reported in February to this point.

Since Jan. 31, there have been less than 5,000 covid cases reported each day in the state. There were 5,191 cases reported Jan. 30.

An additional 149 covid-related deaths were reported Tuesday, bringing the death total in the commonwealth to 22,620. In February, there have been 959 deaths reported thus far.

Hospitalizations for covid-19 ticked up slightly, going from 2,881 individuals Monday to 2,890 on Tuesday. The number of those in the hospital for covid-19 has increased only three times in last three weeks and has dropped from 4,882 to 2,890 over that time.

Compared to a month ago, there are thousands fewer hospitalized in the state. On Jan. 9, there were 5,298 covid-19 patients hospitalized.

Allegheny County on Tuesday had the most additional covid cases in Western Pennsylvania, with 405 cases. Westmoreland County was next with 93 cases.
