New roller coaster highlights Hersheypark’s reopening on July 3

After months of coronavirus precautions, Hersheypark is getting ready to reopen.
And when guests finally start visiting on July 3, they’ll be able to experience a new ride that’s billed as the park’s fastest, tallest and longest roller coaster.
Candymonium reaches 210 feet high with a max speed of 76 mph. The hypercoaster features seven camelback hills and a 123-degree hammerhead curve.
As part of the park’s reopening, new safety protocols have been rolled out:
• Face masks must be worn by all guests older than 2
• Touchless temperature screenings before guests can enter the park
• Practicing social distancing from other guests is encouraged
• Increased cleaning and sanitizing of high-touch areas
It’s recommended that park visitors purchase tickets in advance because guests without advanced reservations aren’t guaranteed admission. Season-pass holders and previous ticket purchasers need to reserve a date at the park’s website.
