Gov. Josh Shapiro will appear on ABC’s The View Friday morning in his role as one of the most vocal supporters of the Democratic Party ticket of Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Shapiro will find himself in a comfortable setting on the show with the panel of mostly liberal female co-hosts — minus Whoopi Goldberg — as he offers his takes on the latest happenings in the presidential race.

The show, viewed as a conduit to women voters, airs at 11 a.m. on ABC affiliates, including WHTM in the Harrisburg area. This is Shapiro’s first appearance on this widely popular daytime show.

Being governor in a battleground state and whose political capital rose from being considered as potential running mate to Harris has made Pennsylvania’s popular governor an in-demand guest on national TV shows discussing the race and being a target of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’ s criticism.

Among other shows he appeared on in recent weeks, Shapiro was a guest on Thursday evening on MSNBC’s All In with Chris Hayes to talk about the race. Among other topics addressed in that 11-minute interview were his administration’s accomplishments in Pennsylvania, Trump’s attacks on him about his Jewish faith, the governor’s prediction for a good season for the Philadelphia Eagles and offering kudos to some roster moves that the Pittsburgh Steelers made in the offseason.

While this appearance on “The View” takes him to New York City on Friday, an administration official noted the energetic governor, who takes pride in being where the people are, has made 13 visits to places in Pennsylvania over the last two weeks.
