Are you a home beer brewer? If so, and if you believe you have a winning ale, you can put your drink to the test in a new statewide contest searching for the best homebrewed beer in Pennsylvania.

The first-ever Breweries In Pennsylvania Homebrew Invitational will have five regional competitions, with three winners each.

The Pittsburgh regional will be July 16 at Hop Farm Brewing along Butler Street in Lawrenceville.

The other dates will be June 11 at Free Will Brewing in Perkasie, Bucks County; June 25 at Wallenpaupack Brewing in Hawley, Wayne County; July 9 at Englewood Brewing in Hummelstown, Dauphin County and Aug. 13 at Lavery Brewing in Erie. A panel of judges will review and score each entry.

The championship — pitting the 15 regional winners — will take place Oct. 16 at Rusty Rail Brewing in Mifflinburg, Union County. Regional winners will get a one-night hotel stay in Mifflinburg.

Interested homebrewers — only amateurs age 21 and older are permitted to enter — can register at the Breweries in PA website. The deadline to sign up is March 28.

Brewers may only submit one beer for judging — so make it your best one. The beer must also be among the 25 approved styles from the Beer Judge Certification Program. A list can be found when signing up.

Admission tickets go on sale April 11.
