A woman was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment after her SUV struck a farm tractor and overturned Friday in Derry Township, according to first responders.

The crash occurred at about 11 a.m. along Pandora Road, according to 911 dispatchers.

Bradenville Volunteer Fire Department Capt. Justin Horrell said the farm tractor was pulling off the road into a field when the SUV struck it from behind and overturned on to its roof.

Horrell said the driver was trapped inside her vehicle.

“We were able to stabilize the vehicle and extricate her,” Horrell said.

Paramedics treated the woman until a medical helicopter arrived, he said. The woman, who was not identified, was transported to Allegheny General Hospital, he said.

“The driver of the tractor was not injured and did not require treatment,” Horrell said.

State police in Kiski are investigating, but a report was not available.
