A lucky shopper at a Westmoreland County Walmart is holding a Pennsylvania Lottery ticket worth $138,357, officials announced.
The retailer along Hollywood Boulevard in Delmont sold a jackpot-winning Treasure Hunt ticket on Thursday, according to the PA Lottery. The ticket matched all five balls: 1-12-14-26-27.
The chances of matching all five numbers for the jackpot are one in 142,506, according the lottery.
There were more than 44,100 other Treasure Hunt tickets with smaller winning prizes.
Treasure Hunt is drawn daily. Winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.
Walmart will get a $500 bonus for selling the ticket.
Last week, a Monopoly 100x scratch-off ticket worth $3 million was sold to a 30-year-old Indiana County man at the Giant Eagle in Ligonier.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the Pennsylvania Lottery recorded its second-best sales year — $4.47 billion — in 2019-20 since its inception in the 1970s, according to an annual report.
Sales in mid-March 2020 decreased by 25% as about 30% of retailers were ordered to close under statewide virus mitigation efforts.
Pennsylvania Lottery profits exceeded $1 billion and a record $2.93 billion was paid out to winners during the fiscal year, according to the report.
