The 2019 Westmoreland County Senior Games got underway last week for the 36th year. Activities will run through Friday at Mammoth Park and other locations.

The theme is “Bring a Friend for Fun and Fitness.” Anyone age 50 or older can participate. The goal of the annual event, coordinated by the county’s Parks and Recreation department, is to encourage seniors to be active and continue participating in recreational activities.

Among the nearly three dozen activities featured are: archery, bocci, cornhole, darts, cycling, golf, horse shoes, shuffleboard, swimming and walking. Cost is $12 to register on site.

More information about registration can be found on the Westmoreland County website or by calling 724-830-3952.

Westmoreland County Senior Games started in 1983.
